Warning: whining thread.
Okay, so I noticed the new admin patrolling the server today - and I've noticed a few things that really bother me, my strongest concern is the fact he likes to make up rules to suit himself.
I have been threatened with bans for a variety of offences including "trolling", which can be extremely loosely interpreted and attempts to justify bans for anything he doesn't like at that particular moment, this includes pressing Ctrl K and destroying cars - things that are in no way against the rules. I have yet to be banned for "trolling" but have received multiple kicks, all with no explanation.
On top of this Germst has even appealed to users to voteban me, which seems incredibly immature and irresponsible, here is a screenshot of him asking a player to voteban me. He isn't even getting the command right.
Germst has also abused admin power after I fragged him during one of his crime sprees (could crime sprees be considered trolling by his rules?) and stole $1,000. After I respawned He promptly started to harass me for the money, while this is not against rules, it is very un-admin-like for an admin that supposedly prides himself on keeping the peace. We fought, the money changed hands a few times, but in the end I kept possession. This seemed to irritate Germst and fuel his ambition to get his money back, he brings a shotgun to my base and starts to fire.
Now before I continue, I'd like to point out there is no list of "illegal events" in the rules, and it appears that the abusable ones are restricted, two recent examples being "changeDataBlock" and "setPlayerScale". I can't comprehend that while many events are admin only, so called "illegal events" are still in the game, accessible to regular users.
Don't get me wrong; I understand that some events can be game breaking and ruin the other game for other players, but if there is no list of discouraged events how are the server's users meant to know? Some form of complete & updated rule set to prevent this from happening would be greatly appreciated.
Anyway, if you haven't guessed how this story ends. Germst shoots at my door, my eventing made some of the bullets ricochet back off the wall and into him. He died. In the chat he says "illegal events", when I ask him what illegal events I was using (to try and resolve the problem) I was banned for 7 hours. While it may well be a justified ban, I can't help but think that there was personal motivation behind it. Here is the ban reason for those interested:
What do you guys think?
